Peter Mackie Burns gained major short film awards including the Golden Bear at Berlinale and a BAFTA nomination for his short film Milk, with Brenda Fricker (My Left Foot). He directed Come Closer, an experimental urban doc about Glasgow, and the shorts Run (BBC), The Spastic King (Channel4), penned by Jack Thorne. Daphne is Peter's feature film debut.

Daphne, a young woman juggling a hectic nightlife with a busy restaurant job, finds her life thrown off balance after she saves the life of a young shopkeeper. The façade that she has built to protect herself gradually starts to crack and she takes a fresh look at her fractured life.
