The Last Battle (Le dernier combat)
Part of the Retrospective: The Future Is History Strand
Essential to the curation of the Cinéma du Look strand in 2016 were the three classic titles by director Luc Besson: Subway (1985), Le Grande Bleu (1988), and La Femme Nikita (1990). In 2017, with Besson preparing for the worldwide release of his highly anticipated new sci-fi epic, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, (his first foray into the future since The Fifth Element), we revisit his stunning debut feature, the mute, monochrome Le Dernier Combat, starring Cinéma du Look mascot Jean Reno.
