Mona Lisa
Part of the Retrospective: The Future Is History Strand
Director Neil Jordan’s Mona Lisa is a masterpiece. Delivering one of the finest performances of his extraordinary career, Bob Hoskins is unforgettable as the naive minder who loses his heart to his unpredictable charge, played by the brilliant Cathy Tyson. With outstanding support from Michael Caine, Robbie Coltrane, and Clarke Peters, Hoskins and Tyson light up the emotional side of the narrative, the chemistry between them allowing Jordan’s dark Soho thriller to blossom into a memorably moving experience.
