Cam Christiansen is an award-winning director, animator and innovator in the world of 3D animation and digital filmmaking. His films have screened at the Sundance Film Festival and TIFF and made the latter’s top-ten list of Canadian short films twice. WALL is his first feature-length film and the second project he’s directed for the National Film Board of Canada.
WALL
David Hare’s acclaimed monologue Wall gets the full multimedia treatment in this powerful and engrossing documentary essay from Canadian animator Cam Christiansen, who co-wrote the film’s script with Hare. The film follows David Hare in Israel and the West Bank, capturing his personal perspective on the history of the Israeli separation barrier and the Middle East conflict. This impressive film utilises animation based on film shot in Israel as well as 3D motion capture of actors, all presented largely in black and white but with vital splashes of colour.
