Farming
Writer-director Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje delves into his own childhood for this tough and powerful drama. Enitan (Damson Idris) is left in the care of a British foster family by his Nigerian parents, who hope it will provide him with a better future. Instead, teenaged Enitan joins a skinhead gang, led by the brutal Levi (John Dagleish). Kate Beckinsale stars as working-class mother Ingrid who fosters the young Enitan, while Gugu Mbatha-Raw is the teacher who struggles to help him avoid self-destruction. An enthralling and moving real-life story. [15]
Farming is nominated for the 2019 Michael Powell Award for Best British Feature Film.
