The McLaren Award: New British Animation 3
Part of the Animation Strand
In 1990, the McLaren Award for the Best British Animation was inaugurated in honour of the Academy Award®-winning Stirling-born animator Norman McLaren. Ever since, we have sought to reflect McLaren’s pioneering spirit. As such, many of these films contain mature subject matter not suitable for children. As is now tradition, the winner of the McLaren is determined by public vote – so take a seat, have your voting slip ready and decide for yourself who will be crowned the 30th winner of the McLaren Award over these three celebratory programmes.
