Today (Thursday 8 March), Edinburgh International Film Festival opens three exciting industry opportunites for entries - EIFF Talent Lab, EIFF Works in Progress and Distribution Rewired. Information on each, and on how to apply, is detailed below.

 

EIFF TALENT LAB

Call for Applications: Deadline Mon 30 April 2018

Taking place from 22 - 25 June, the eighth edition of EIFF Talent Lab is an unmissable opportunity for emerging Scottish, UK and International filmmakers to hone their knowledge and skills through a series of tailored masterclasses, panels and networking events with selected key industry professionals.

Screenwriters, Producers and Directors are invited to apply for this opportunity to discuss the industry, their projects and their ideas with industry professionals including sales agents, executive producers, literary agents, development executives and distributors. If you are working towards your first funded feature then this programme is for you!

Call for Entries: Deadline Tuesday 01 May 2018

EIFF is delighted to announce the third edition of EIFF Works in Progress as part of the Festival’s vast industry events programme. The event will present up to ten UK narrative feature titles to an invited industry audience including Sales Agents, Financiers, Festival Programmers and Distributors.  Each project will present to the invited industry audience with the aim of providing opportunities for projects to reach completion and be taken to international markets. There is a £2,500 award for the most promising project selected.

Call for Marketplace Applications: Deadline Friday 04 May 2018

Distribution Rewired is a two-day event and marketplace dedicated to developing communication and collaboration between filmmakers and film distribution professionals and will look at the opportunities available in today’s diverse distribution sector. Taking place on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 June as part of the EIFF 2018 Industry programme, Distribution Rewired will welcome an array of guest speakers including VOD platforms, Aggregators and Exhibitors. Events will focus on developing and implementing new models of film marketing, distribution and audience engagement.

Sitting within this event is a marketplace for pre-selected projects. We are looking for feature fiction and documentary projects which are, at least, in production and are looking at the options for a more creative approach to distribution.  Support is available for producers to attend and present their projects to a number of distribution representatives including Vimeo, Under the Milky Way, Curzon Home Cinema, Miracle Communications, MUBI, EuroVOD and Ourscreen
