Submissions are now CLOSED for 2021. Thank you to everyone for their submissions.

We were delighted to have received an incredible amount of submissions for this year's EIFF Youth New Visions Short Film Competition. All submissions have been reviewed by the EIFF Youth team, who curated a shortlist of films to be screened online in August 2021 as part of our EIFF Youth Weekender.

A panel of judges, made up of film industry professionals, will watch the shortlisted films and decide three awards in the following categories:

Category 1 - Filmmakers aged 15-18

Category 2 - Filmmakers aged 19-25: for films made as part of a formal educational course e.g. at university or college

Category 3 - Filmmakers aged 19-25: for films made independently or as part of an informal course e.g. BFI Academy, film workshops

The awards will be announced in August 2021. Each award comes with a cash prize of £300. In addition the film's cinematographers win a day of work experience with Procam Take 2.

The full EIFF Youth programme will be announced on 30 July.
