In celebration of the 15th anniversary of Disney Pixar's fantastically fishy caper Finding Nemo - and the 2nd anniversary of Finding Dory at EIFF - we're proud to present a double bill with a difference. EIFF: Splash will take audiences under the sea - all from the comfort of your cinema seat. Using state-of-the-art technology, we'll be flooding the home of Edinburgh International Film Festival, as we submerge an entire screen with ethically sourced sea water. EIFF: Splash will take place at Filmhouse on Sunday 24 June 2018 at 6pm - get ready to swim along with some of your favourite fishy friends in this unique event!

As the world's longest continually-running film festival, EIFF has a rich history of innovation, and we're proud to continue this tradition by programming the world's first truly underwater cinema experience. We'll be screening a double bill of Finding Nemo and Finding Dory for confident swimmers, and we'll be providing souvenir 3D EIFF goggles for every member of the audience.
Filmhouse UnderwaterArtist's impression: a flooded Filmhouse.

Juliet Tweedie, EIFF's Head of Development, said: "We’re always looking for innovative ways to delight our audiences, and we’re thrilled to present our special underwater screenings of Pixar classics, Finding Nemo and Finding Dory. For one night only, Filmhouse’s flagship screen Cinema 1 will completely flooded, giving audiences a truly immersive experience as they float, dive and swim along with Nemo and Dory. It was quite a challenge to waterproof our historic venue, but we’re confident that this event will make a huge splash - and audiences won’t mind holding their breath for three hours."

Tickets for EIFF: Splash will go on sale with the rest of our programme, which will be announced on Wednesday 23 May - take the plunge!

*PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO THE UNDERWATER NATURE OF THE EVENT SOME AUDIO DISRUPTIONS MAY TAKE PLACE*
