Body

Generational trauma lies at the core of this real-life drama, developed from Helga Schneider’s story about being abandoned by her mother Traudi in Poland in 1941 when she was just four years old. Set in 2000, the film sees Helga (the wonderful Juliet Stevenson) travel to vienna to see her ailing mother, accompanied by her grand daughter (Lucy Boynton) who thought Traudi was dead. Generations of women come together to face the dark secrets of the past, as an unrepentant Traudi unravels the darkest of family secrets.
