Unforgettable debuts from Álex de la Iglesia, Alejandro Amenábar and Nacho Vigalondo, a cult masterpiece from Iván Zulueta, and perhaps the most famous short film ever made from Antonio Mercero, this strand is a treasure trove for all cult/genre enthusiasts.
The films screening in this retrospective are: Iván Zulueta's Rapture, screening with short film The Telephone Box by Antonio Mercero; Acción mutante from Álex de la Iglesia; Alejandro Amenábar's Thesis; & Timecrimes by Nacho Vigalondo.
Along with four retrospective screenings there is also a special Reel Talk event, Spanish Cult Cinema, presented by Rolland Man of the University of Edinburgh.
