We are delighted to announce that submissions for the 2018 Edinburgh International Film Festival open on Wednesday 1 November 2017.

As the longest continually running film festival in the world, EIFF is preparing its 72nd edition which will take place in Edinburgh from 20 June to 1 July 2018.

Since 1947, the Festival has brought ground-breaking and exciting films from all over the world to appreciative UK audiences and a wide variety of press and industry guests. EIFF seeks to present the most creative and innovative developments in world cinema, bring filmmakers to local, national and international attention, and provide a dynamic platform for engagement with them and their work.

Successful submissions will  be presented to public and industry audiences at one of the world’s most respected and prestigious festivals.

In 2017, EIFF screened many exceptional films received through open submissions, including Edie, London Symphony, Romans, Story of A Girl, Access All Areas and The Marker, as well as Just Charlie, which went on to win our Audience Award. EIFF also presented many short film submissions, including The Full Story, which won our Award for Best Short Film, and Poles Apart, which won our McLaren Award for Best British Animation.
